Traditional Bengkung Belly Binding

Wrapping the abdomen is an important part of a woman’s postpartum recovery. In this traditional Malaysian practice, a long strip of cloth is bound from ribcage to hips providing support for the womb after birth. It aids in slimming the ribcage, belly and hips, pulls in separated abdominal muscles, prevents back pain by promoting good posture, decreases postpartum bleeding time, promotes an optimal breastfeeding latch, and it just plain feels good! This service can be implemented as soon as 24 hours after a vaginal delivery and 2-4 weeks after a surgical delivery. The wrap should be worn 6-8 hours a day for 4-6 weeks postpartum for optimal results (can be worn to bed).
